About us

TheFlavorofScoville.com came to be because of a desire to find the perfect hot sauce.

Life, Liberty, and the pursuit of flavorful heat.

For years we have been searching for the perfect blend of flavor and heat. Many of the sauces that we have tried tasted amazing, but they did not quite bring the heat. Often the heat came way before anything else and was so intense that it eliminated the possibility to taste anything afterwards, up to and including the food that the sauce was being used with (especially notable in sauces that use pepper extract). Other issues that we came across was a lack of universality. Now we certainly understand that there is no such thing as universal hot sauce, but certain less common ingredients that were used in even some of the best sauces that have been tasted managed to manifest themselves to the forefront of the dish, making for an unpleasant and sometimes down right unpalatable dish.

Over the years we have grown to love and desire the level of spice of even the most intense peppers, all of which bring a flavor and heat profile that is unique. In doing so we began to make pepper sauce to compliment the heat rather than tame it. The result is a combination of flavors that compliment practically any dish, even a dessert.

We will be releasing items as often as once a month, with multiple items during high holiday months. In addition to items that are made monthly, we make “to order” items as well. Please use the contact us information to inquire about sauces and other items that are currently in development. I am also more than happy to do custom flavor requests, with minimum quantity orders. So, if you want a unique gift for the holidays, or even just for yourself to have that ultimate go to sauce, reach out to me and we can make it happen.

During the summer we grow our own peppers, which allows for an even more unique flavor profile. Everything from basic Habanero peppers all the way up to the Carolina reaper pepper. So, if you would like an item with a custom pepper profile, don’t wait contact us.
